Professional Development Meetings and Networking Opportunities
Four to Six professional development meetings are scheduled each year. Members have the chance to network with seasoned professionals in the field and those new to the profession. This is a time to meet other Volunteer Administrators, compare volunteer programs and best practices, discuss the potential for partnerships and collaborations, or informally chat about the work we do. WEAVA has over 35 member agencies with volunteer programs. There is a lot of information sharing and resources pertaining to volunteer recruitment, training and retention. A workshop presentation follows the networking.
Windsor Start Insert
WEAVA provides member agencies with the opportunity to showcase a volunteer and their volunteer program in an insert in the Windsor Star. The insert comes out during National Volunteer Week. Included on the back page is the member agency’s name, address, website and a line or two explaining your agency or volunteer program. This is all included in your WEAVA membership price! Members can access education funds for training and workshops related to Volunteer Management.
To enable members to count professional development hours for continuing education units, professional portfolios or other needs certificates are available on request that can be emailed to you.

Memberships are transferable. A membership paid for by the agency or organization remains with the agency or organization and can be picked up and then renewed by a replacement if the original member leaves the organization.
