We were thrilled to welcome Dr. Martha Reavley for an informative presentation on the topic of E2 Cultures: Building Engaging and Empowering Volunteer Cultures. In this presentation, Dr. Reavley presented a model for creating E2 cultures for volunteer organizations, and assisting WEAVA members and guests to explore the factors that create and sustain engaging and empowering volunteer experiences within their respective organization.

We were excited to host two of Windsor-Essex’s young professionals and community leaders, Nour Hachem Fawaz and Noah Tepperman for an inspiring and educational presentation on Engaging Youth in Volunteerism. Both Nour and Noah discussed their current and past successes in engaging youth, including effective strategies, tools and best practices they have used in an effort to support existing community needs and to foster a new generation of community leaders for the future.
Annual General Meeting

We held our Annual General Meeting at the Giovanni Caboto Club. This interactive workshop looked at how you can develop a volunteer engagement model lead through a strategic lens that reflects your organizational needs while responding to the trends in volunteerism. Topics included: managing vs leading; change management; current trends and how to approach them; goal setting in a smart way and developing a model of success.

This meeting took place at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare, Prince Road. The guest speaker was Matt Dunlop, Director of Marketing at Mainstream Marketing. This was an educational meeting for the membership to learn about the advantages of social media for an organisation with volunteers.
Volunteer Managers Day!

We celebrated International Volunteer Managers Day at Hospice of Windsor. During the event we recognized all the Volunteer Managers that work at different organisations and thanked them for all that they do. There was also a guest speaker, Kelly Ann Spezowka who gave a talk about ‘Wellness – Work/Balance’.
11th Annual WEAVA General Meeting
